Commit Your Way to the Lord

 This is Psalm 37:4-7

Take delight in the Lord,
and He will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in Him and He will do this:
He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
your vindication like the noonday sun.
Be still before the Lord
and wait patiently for Him;
do not fret when people succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.

Isn't that awesome??

Everything is Changing

Well, this is being written rather late at night. That is because the last two weeks have just been unbelievably crazy for me. Actually, looking back on this month so far, I'm really not sure how all this managed to happen in just a short twenty seven days. I never knew how much my life could change in that short of an amount of time.

One of my best friends got to come and spend a week with me (I will be sharing a video about that soon! Well, hopefully it will be soon. I am making no promises as to timing.), That was amazing to just chill in my house with my friends.

I got to talk to one of my best friends after a prolonged separation. That was amazing. There is nothing like talking to someone who you feel comfortable around.

On top of that, my family has been going through some changes. There good changes, but all changes come with growth pain.

On a completely light note, I am 0% prepared for Camp NaNo next month. I know, that's nothing really new for me, but I'm even amazing myself with how unprepared I am. I hope you are more prepared if you are doing it.

I want to know how your week was, would you comment below and tell me?

Drowning

Drowning under a sea
Can’t get a breath
Suffocating
Even though I get air
Occasionally
Its not enough
To combat the water
The waves keep pushing me
Further and further under
Suddenly
The pressure lets up
I break through the water
Air fills my lungs
And I can breathe again
Life pumps through me
It’s better than ever before
It’s like I just now
Learned to live
And then
I get plunged under again
But the waves can’t hurt me
Anymore
I have air in my lungs
I have life in my veins
I’m alive
I know for sure
the air will come again
The waves don’t have the power
To kill me
I’m alive
Let the waves come if they want to

Meraki Box Review

Okay, first off, what is a Meraki box? I pulled this description the site:

Meraki means to do something with soul, with creativity; to put something of yourself into your work. There could not be a better description of what writers, authors, and editors do. Every word is written with love, with passion, with hope. Our boxes are designed to encourage and inspire literary artists.

Every Meraki Box© contains several (4-5) literary items. Whether it's pens, pencils, stationery, planners, paper, desk accessories or pretties, you will receive an assortment of the goodies no writer can resist! The products you will receive will be a mystery until their arrival.

Super cool, right? Well, they've got an awesome selection of boxes, they have a coffee, chocolate, tea, no food, and a mystery box. I personally ordered the no food box because its a couple dollars cheaper. One of the coolest things about Meraki boxes, is the price you see (12-15 dollars) is the price you pay. There's no tax, shipping, or anything. Isn't that awesome? If you don't want a whole box, or want something just a tad cheaper, they also have Meraki mailers, which are a smaller about of stuff in an envelope.

I was looking for something fun to do, so this was perfect. So I ordered it and waited impatiently for the first of the month to roll around so it would ship. It arrived in very good time, which was super awesome. I'm used to cheep shipping and long waits when it comes to this kind of thing but it came pretty fast.

The box was decorated with a super cute gold ribbon (Not pictured because of the addresses show to much), which was just an awesome touch. Opening it up, my stuff was on that cute confetti you can see in the second picture. As you can see I got some pretty fun stuff. All of it is pretty nice quality, and I've already dived into the notebook because its so nice. The page flags have also been really useful, and they are even in my favorite color!

So, if you're looking into a Meraki box, are just looking for something to brighten your month, or are looking for a gift, I would highly recommend this. You can buy it for just one month, or get a three month subscription.

Heres where you can buy them: Meraki Box

So, have you ever gotten one of these boxes? If not, are you thinking of getting one?

Comfort Zone Love

Loving can mean giving the thing you want to give the least. Or not giving the thing you want to give the most. Long story short, love is pretty much the definition of stepping out of your comfort zone.
As a wise pinterest quote said “Comfort zones are beautiful things, but nothing ever grows there.”
In order to love, we have to step out of our comfort zones every single day. Probably quite a few times a day. Because God didn’t call us to be comfortable. He wants us to grow. That can mean anything from sending a text, to telling someone something hard, to anything really. Only you can know what you are called to do. But I can guarantee it doesn’t always stay inside your comfort zone.

I’m pretty sure that after St. Patrick was kidnapped, enslaved, then finally getting free from the Irish, going back to witness to them was not on his ‘inside my comfort zone list.’ That had to be one of the hardest things God called him to, yet you can see all the good it did. St. Patrick made an impact.

Elizabeth Elliot’s husband was killed by an tribe, and God called her to go and witness to that very tribe. Probably not what she wanted to do.

Love isn’t always that hard, most of the time I think it’s much easier. But it is our decision weather to love like God called us to. Its not easy, it’s not in our comfort zone, but its worth it.

What’s a way you’ve had to step out of your comfort zone lately?
Happy St. Patrick's day!

Ink Spilling From the Heart

This is a poem I wrote about, well, writing! I hope you enjoy it!

When life seems to be
Falling apart
With no hope
I write
When I feel sadness
Tearing at my soul
Threatening to tear
It to pieces
I write
When life’s irritations
Get in the way
I am about to scream
I write
When life seems perfect
Nothing could be better
A laugh bubbles over
For no reason
I write
Because when my heart
Spills over with emotion
It turns into ink
And spills onto the page
Making an impression
No one can forget
It sears in my brain
And then my mind
And my soul
Seem connected
And God seems to fill
The very ink spilling forth
And it fills me
With such hope
Joy
And peace
To know He lives
In my soul
And that He uses
My deepest pain
And my deepest joy
Even if I don’t
See it at the time

February Highlights

Hello everyone!! Maybe February went by fast because its the shortest month of the year, or because of all that happened, but regardless of the reason, it went fast! And here we are already six days into March. Well, here are my highlights from last month!

Toured capitol. Read about that here.

Stargazed. That was an important part of my month. It was awesome.

I started running again. This is not as cool, but it does give me some nice time in the morning to talk to God alone.

Went to nature place trail. (See pictures from the last trip here) Which pretty much consisted of nearly dying from trying to keep up with my amazingly physically fit brother and sister. They practically dragged me up the last hill. But it was good! I was only sore for three days and it was amazingly fun. And I saw that same o

Got camera thumb drive. This thing is the coolest. Also its a lot bigger then my last thumb drive so there's lots more room for my photos! Score!

I managed to delete 400 photos off of my thumb drive that I didn't have backed up anywhere else. Thankfully a friend was able to restore all of them for me. I love having techy friends when I am so.... not techy.

Me, Grace Pennington, and my sister Sarah.
I went to Grace Pennington's wedding. This was AMAZING!! Grace is one of my favorite authors ever and her wedding was beautiful.

Finished Flight from Kelar!! My beautiful mess is done. Read the celebratory post here.

Annabeth's War and Wren were both rereads and old favorites. But my favorite book that I read for the first time in February was From the Dark to the Dawn by Alicia A. Willis. That book was SO amazing.

Mirrors Cannot Lie

Mirrors cannot lie. They are not capable of it. When you look in it, it doesn't say you are ugly, or fat, or that your mean, you do. You are the one spouting lies. You are just using the evidence you see in the mirror to back up you testimony. But I can 100% guarantee you that if God stood there next to you, that is not what he would say. No I think He would say "You are broken, but so was I, and I was more broken then you will ever be for I didn't just take on one persons sin, I took on everyone's. I took it, and it died with me. But it didn't resurrect with me. I came back to give you life that is better then your sin filled one. I came to give you with with hope and healing."

Society tells us we need to be a size two to be pretty. But we are not suiciety, and we should be different then them. Society may think that you need to be small, pretty and successful to be loved, but shouldn't we, who know Christ, know better? After all, God is in us, and God does not look at outward appearances, so why are we judging by the worlds standards? We have a higher standard to live by.

Every person on this earth, who lived, is living, or is to come, is hand crafted by God. And He loved us all. As Christians we have forsaken the world an its standards and chosen to look to something greater because we know The Healer, and He searches much deeper then the outside. He searches our hearts and knows our brokenness and He want's to use it for His glory. He loves us even in our brokenness and wants to bring us to a place of hope and healing beyond our brokenness.

Society tells us what we need to be loved is to to be pretty and successful. But we are different and cannot follow their path. We can't follow their society and God. God's plan is so much bigger then the worlds. And society changes day to day. It is fickle in its demands. But Gods plan for your life has never changed. From before you were born, God knew every moment of your life. And every day we fail the perfect plan, but that doesn't surprised God. He knew you would do it, so He used your weakness to show His strength, And He will use it every time.

The Mirror does not lie, we do. But God is in and He is bigger then us or our lies. He wants to show you how precious you are to Him. And He wants to show you His perfect plan. All you've got to do is ask Him to show you, and ask Him to make you the best you possibly be for Him. And keep asking Him every minute of of every day. He loves you, and wants to show you the higher calling.

My First Novel Finished

Happy March everyone! Its an all around awesome day, so I'll just dive in!

I finished the first draft of Flight From Kelar!! It took me four months of writing, one of which was NaNo, so I wrote 50,000 in it then, and I have struggled through the next eight thousand words these past three months. It is a complete mess, from my sloppy beginning, to my cheesy ending, but I love the whole thing. This is twice as long as my next longest book, so I am really excited. I would off y’all an excerpt from the book, but it is so messy right now I couldn’t find anything good enough to be shown. I’m going to give the book a break before I tackle it again. I’ll probably get back to it after CampNaNo. Is anyone else excited about camp?

Also, this is my four hundredth post!! Every hundred marker just makes me so happy. I’ve got a post that is pretty close to my heart coming up on Friday to celebrate, and then my February highlights on Monday.

Also, I have two packages on the way, and I just got a whole set of books from the library, is this too awesome or what? Also one of the packages is a book, so it’s like double the awesomeness.

What’s your longest book you’ve written?
Have you hit any blogging milestones lately?
And most important, do you have any packages on the way?

Let’s talk ya’ll!
