Food For Thought #62

Comfort zones

On Tuesday I filmed the Q&A video. I lugged all my gear up to the woods, set up, and filmed my opening statement about five times before my voice stopped shaking enough that I could actually film it all the way though. I was so scared. I mean, I’ve never done a video of myself before. For many of you, this will probably be the first time you’ve actually seen me actually talk. I was nervous, I mean, what if I messed up and no one liked it? About the sixth time I started filming I got used to the fact that I was talking to a camera while alone in the woods and managed to get through the whole video. And then I watched it.

It was actually alright. Except for the fact that I was licking my lips through the whole thing, there was a piece of pollen on my head and I kept stammering for words. Not to mention I somehow missed this one girls questions.

So, guess what I did this morning. Yep. I re-filmed the video. I lugged all my equipment back up into the woods, and made actually a pretty decent film. Even if I did drop all the questions on the ground at the end and have the camera unfocused and then refocus every time I moved too much.  It’s pretty good. I look forward to showing it to y’all.

I guess my point is that filming a video of myself is way out of my comfort zone. I knew when I asked y’all for questions for this that it would be hard for me to do. But you know what, it was really worth it. Being shoved out of my comfort zone was good for me. I tend to want to stay in my comfort zone, thus missing out on a lot in life because I think it would be super scary out there. But in actuality, when I finally got down to doing the video, it wasn’t bad at all.

I’m not saying I’m good at stepping out of my comfort zone. I’m actually pretty horrible at it. I still freeze up a little bit every time I have to answer the phone, but I’m working at it, and that’s the best I can do.

So what’s one way you’ve stepped out of your comfort zone lately? How did that work out for you?
Whats one way you wish you could step out of your comfort zone more?

Writing Wednesday #27

My Camp NaNoWriMo project

Its CampNaNoWriMo. This is one of my favorite times of year because it means I get a lot more writing done then usual. This year has been especially awesome because I was invited into a cabin with some other Christian bloggers and it has been awesome!

I am actually writing Just Your Ordinary Messenger, which I have shared the beginning to before, but I re-wrote it, so I thought I would share it again. Forgive the grammar errors, please, this is its rough draft! Please comment and tell me what you think of it!

I wasn’t sure where I was. I felt disorientated and foggy. It was like I was coming out of a very deep sleep. I was sore, and stiff all over, like I hadn’t moved in a long time. Slowly my senses came back and I because aware of the fact that I was in a car, though I hadn’t ventured to open my eyes yet, the familiar sensation was unmistakable.

Where am I? I asked myself, surprised that I couldn’t at once recall. I wracked my brain, trying to remember where I had last been.

I was with Matt. I thought He was taking me to A.C.T. wasn’t he? I must still be in his car, though I don’t even remember falling asleep.

I opened my eyes, but was startled to be met by blackness. My heart rate quickened, why can’t I see? I moved my hand to touch my eyes, but found myself unable to move them as well. I could now hear my heart beating I was beginning to get so scared. What is going on? The frantic thought wouldn’t stop racing through my head, not matter how I tried to stop it.

“Are you sure she won’t remember any of what happened?” A male voice penetrated the silence, startling me almost so bad that I jumped, but I managed to stop myself. I didn’t recognize his voice.

“I told you sir, she won’t remember any of it for a long time. Long enough for you to make a clean getaway.” A second, younger man replied.

My Life (in as many posts as it takes) #91

Okay, y'all are all awesome! Not that I didn't know that before, but now I have tons of proof on my post last week! I asked for questions for my Q&A and I got an amazing response! I got 55 questions on the post itself and combined that with the comments I got last time, I got somewhere around 65-70 questions! I am so happy! Thank you everyone!
My video is going to be a tad bit longer than I thought. ;D So, today I'm going to print your questions off and start working on filming! Everybody just cross you fingers that I can figure out how to upload them. ;D
So, a huge thank you to you all. Y'all are the best!

A perfect smore that I made. (well, as perfect as I get. ;) )

Poppy!!

Thank you all! I look forward to filming and showing this video!

Food For Thought #61

Purpose

We were all put on this earth for a purpose. Sometimes its hard to see when all we can see is here and now, but God has a purpose for each of us. He already knows all the things you are going to do, and all the people you are going to influence. If we'll just listen to Him, and follow his lead, he'll use us to do great things!

Job 42: 2
I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted.

If you've got a couple minutes check out the 4Proches music video 'Purpose.' Its really awesome!

And there is still a couple more days to ask me questions for my upcoming Q&A video if you want to Here! I'd love if you took a couple minutes to do that!

Thanks for reading, and happy April!

My Life (In as many posts as it takes) #90

 300 posts!

This is my 300'th post. Lots has happened since my first. Its been nearly three years since I've started this blog and since then I've started another (Which is currently under construction) and gotten to know many awesome people just because of this blog.
Also, for quite awhile I've been trying to do a Q&A video. Every time I sit down to do it I always think "I should really get a few more questions" so, I was hoping y'all could help me out. Would you comment below with questions for me? It can be any kind of question, I'm not picky. =)
I'll wait a week for all the questions to come in, then I will make the video and post it on the 9'th of April!

I hope you enjoy the photos!

Would you take a moment and ask a question for my Q&A? It would make my day if you would!
Thanks!
