My Room, Remodeled

Hello everyone! I hope your day is going as well as mine is! Okay, so last week I told y'all I was remodeling my room. It took us from the 18'th to the 25'th to finish up everything, but its finally done! We took the popcorn off the ceiling and painted it. We put new floors down, and touched up the paint on the walls. It was hard work, but was fun nonetheless. I could tell you long sob stories about how scraping the ceiling hurt my arms, or how I cut my foot (its not that bad, don't worry) or how I had to wait to finish an amazing book until after the remodeling. Or I could tell you of how my family heroically gave up the living room to store all our stuff while we worked, or how my mom and sister got bruises putting in our new floor, or how my sister sacrificially gave up her desk, and exchanged it for a smaller sewing table. But, I don't have to tell everything in detail. ;P

If you would like to see how my room used to look, why don't you hop over to THIS POST on a blog I do with seven other amazing girls. Once you've looked at that, so you can see the difference, let's dive in!

The entrance:

As you can see, we moved a bookcase behind the door.

And now *Drumroll* The room!

This is the view looking from our window seat.
(The bookself is Rebekkahs books)

And then tilting the camera up so you can see the shelf above our closet.

Behind the door:

Vintage and inspiration area.

Our window seat.

The big white desk is mine. The sewing table is Rebekah's (My sister whom I share the room with).
(and, if you look at the ground under my desk is my new rug. I really love that thing)

My books and Rebekah's candy jar collection, and horses.

There you go, and look at our newly remodeled room. What do you think?

My Life (In as many posts as it takes) #51

In which I give you an update on my challenges.

Hello everyone! I am here to give you an update on my summer challenge. For the first month out of three, I think I'm doing pretty good, but I am beginning to regret my writing challenges just a tad because there are a lot and I've only got one done. But, I have a plan to get them all done. =D

I'm going to go in category just like my first summer post here and give you individual updates. Throughout this post is one of my challenges, a photo challenge I found on Pintrest. The challenge was to take one photo a day in the category they gave so the caption to each one is the category. Enjoy!

A photo of myself.
A photo of what I wore that day.
A photo from a high angle.
A photo of my favorite place to be.

Reading:
I made great progress this month with reading. One of my problems in the first part of this year was that I got so caught up with school, and writing and stuff, I didn't read as much as I wanted so now I'm back on track and am making it out of June with a grand total of eleven books read. There would have been twelve, but I was reading it on my sisters kindle, and the kindle brook so I'm having to wait until I can get it on another device to keep reading it.

Below are the books I read:

A photo of whatever I pleased.
A photo from a low angle.
A silueet. Yeah, I know, I didn't do so great. =P
A close up.
A photo from a distance.

Writing:
I have not done as well in this area, I only finished one story and no plotting in other storys, but I was well sadufyed with my result.

I finished "Are We There Yet"! =D

Kelly

When Kelly and Travis are detained from leaving on their honeymoon, they have to find another way to get to there destination. In classic Kelly and Travis style though, no situation is without some humor in it.

A photo of whatever I pleased.
A photo in black and white.
A bokeh photo.
A photo edit you like.
(P.S. I don't really like much of any photo edits, so this was the closest I could come. =P)

A photo focusing on the eyes.
Blogging

I hosted a giveaway!! =D That was my big goal and it is now done. I was super excited at the turnout for my giveaway and I hope to have another in the future! =D

I've only done one writing post, so I don't know if I'm doing much better at them, but I'm trying. =)

A photo of whatever I pleases,

A photo of light trails.
A street light.
A photo depicting an emotion. Seriously. ;D
A photo of a landscape.

Lifestyle

I have been jogging consistently all month. I think I missed two days, but that was because we left for town only a little bit after I got up so I didn't have time. =P But I think, considering my previous attempts, that I'm doing pretty good at this. =D

A photo of whatever I pleased.
A photo of the sunset.
A photo of someone you love. <3
A photo that reminds you of your childhood.
A photo with a color sceam.

Arts:
As evidence by all the photos in the posts, I'm doing really well on the photogerphy challenge. Not so well on the drawing. But, I intend to fix that by right after I'm done here going and drawing. =)

A photo of whatever you please.

A photo with the sun as your lighting.

A photo experimenting with shadows.

A photo incorporating motion.
A photo of clouds.
A photo of whatever I pleased.

A photo of the side of the bookcase, where I keep bages of my completed challenges. =D

This is a reading challenge I was doing with a freind. It was suposed to last all year, but I went a little fast.

At the end of next month I'll give you another update. Thanks for reading! =D

My Life (In as many posts as it takes) #47

Hello! Happy June! Can you belive that we are almost halfway through this year? ALREADY???

It has been an interesting seven days. A week ago today there was a tornado watch in our area. Thankfully, even though one was sighted near us, none actually hit us! The only damage we suffered was a couple trees and fences down because of the floods. We're still a bit underwater because it keeps raining, but it's helped the water levels in the lakes a lot. =D

Today I've got a place to share in my room that is constantly changing. That would be my bulletin board. Now this is one of those places that Rebekkah lets me rule, and doesn't mess with. And I'm very grateful because lists are important to me and I like to have them in order. =)

You'll notice on the below photo that this also happens to double as my Retro/old stuff area. It also happens to be the top of our dresser. ;)

This rather unrelated set of items is what I check eeverydayto make sure I didn't miss anything.

This is a book challenge I'm oing with a friend of mine. You read one book out of each category in the year. =D

Sorry, this is a very washed out photo of it, but this is a one month photoerphy challenge I found on Pintrest. =D

This are a lot of the books I need to right. To the left are the books to finish off a series, and to the right are the stand alone or not yet started series. =)

A random record I found. =)

My Magnifying glass and letter opener. =D

And if you turn around, this is where I'm going to put things I have acomplished this year. I only started it a few weeks ago, so it only has CampNaNo so far, but I hope to have it full soon. =D

Inspirational quotes are a must. =D

Do you use a bulletin board?
Are you doing any challenges this month?
