Food For Thought #15


First off, I want to apologize for my posts of late. They haven't been very well done. That half has to do with the fact that over the past week I have been struggling with a cold and half because I have felt very uninspired. 

But, I am now opening Food For Thought to guest posts! Then people wouldn't just have to hear me talk. ;D So, if you would like to do a post for me, please, comment below or contact me in the sidebar and I would love to have you! =D

 Jeremiah 31: 16 
Restrain your voice from weeping and your eyes from tears, for your work will be rewarded.

Sometimes I feel like no one sees what I'm doing to try to be better, or the work I do so this verse has been very helpful. 

Just because you don't get praised for something good you've done, God saw it and will give you a reward in heaven.

Writing Wednesday #8

In which I will not rant about Camp NaNo.


Well, here I am once again to tell you about my writing. I'm sorry if this post is rather incoherent, I still have a cold and I don't feel like I'm writing very well. 

On Thursday, I finished Camp NaNo with a completed novella, now I'm editing it. Ah the joys of spelling errors, misplaced commas, and missed up characters. 

So, instead of going on and on about all this, I've got  a poem to share with you that is "Once A Princess, But Never Again" in poem form. =) 

There was a princess, she stood with her head held high
But she was very grieved, you could see it in her eye
She seemed to shine as brightly as the sun, 
But she was weak, even though she admitted it to no one 
Only if you looked, could you see the signs 
Of the great weight on her shoulders, even though it didn't give her lines
But she was a very strong girl 
And she was as precious a pearl 
She knew she could do anything through Him who reigned in heaven
And through him, she could keep things in line twenty four seven. 
He ruled the whole universe  
And she only an earthly place, though she was none the worse. 
It seemed to bring her closer to Him, 
To rule and entire kingdom.
So she held up her head, very high 
Because she was precious in God’s eye. 

I will do a better post on writing on the 20'th. Thanks for being patient while I get over my cold!

My life (In as many posts as it takes) #43

Well, I'm really sorry this is not going to be a long post. I came down with a cold over the weekend and thankfully its not very bad, but its enough to keep me from writing coherently for long. Its also rather hard to type because three of my right hand fingers are in bandaids and one is scraped. We went blackberry picking and the thrones were not my friend. ;) 

So, off my sob story, I have a lot of nature photos to show you from about two months ago. I'm hope you enjoy them!








My goofy dog just loves freshly cut grass. =D

Food For Thought #14



Wow, my last few posts have sounded pretty depressing, haven’t they? Sorry about that. Well, I’m glad to say that after a good pity party I’m much happier. Thank you all for your sweet comments, they were very encouraging! 

Mainly this week I’ve been working on putting previous convictions into action so here are some verses that have really inspired me this week. 


Ephesians 2:8-9
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.

Ephesians 4:32
Be kind any compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Nahum 1:7 
The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him.

And this lovely prayer from Ephesians 3:16-19
I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ,  and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

My Life (In as many posts as it takes) #42

Saying goodbye. 


Its been a packed weekend and I wish I had had the time to upload photos for ya'll but I'll do it next week. =) 

On Friday was the last day of the Co-op I've been apart of for 12 weeks. It was really sad because the directer who has been their for 13 years left this semester and were not coming back either. It was an amazing 12 weeks, I learned how to make architectural drawings, I wrote a book, I made a quilt and I preformed in two skits. I made some new friends and it was really amazing.
On Friday, I said goodbye to that. 


These are photos I took of Rebekkah for fun. I was experimenting with no face photos. =) 


On Saturday I spent 2 hours and 45 minutes waiting at a subway for some friends to pick me up. I hate being alone, but it was totally worth it to spend time with them. The girl I met up with was Lauren, one of my best friends. We've known eachother for eight years, emailed almost every day and now shes moving away from Texas. 
On Saturday I had to say goodbye to her for what may be years.




I'm not great with goodbyes. Any of my friends will tell you when I have to say goodbye I get uncomfortable with all the somberness and usually make a joke which makes for an odd goodbye. I find them hard, but goodbyes are part of life and right now I'm trying to look forward to what's coming next. But theres always a sad feeling when I have to say goodbye to something I loved.
