Colossians 3:23 

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men. 

I’ve been thinking of this verse a lot this week because I all too often forget to do my best at everything. It’s easy to think “well this doesn’t really matter.” But this verse doesn’t say “do the things that matter most with all your heart” it says everything. Sometimes I have to wonder what my life would look like if I put my whole heart into all the projects I did. It makes me want to do better and this week I’ve especially been trying to do that with writing. Instead of just getting my writing satisfactory, I’m trying to get it so it’s to the best level I can get it.

Can't say I've thought about this much. Probably M because it starts a lot of words I love and also it begins my name so I have to write it a lot!

Quirky, awesome, and dream.

Out of books. 

(Yeah, I can't really think of anything else) 

4. If you were to create a word, what would it be, and what would it describe?

A word that would describe that feeling you get when entering an old book store. Like history, and excitement, and tons of other things rolled into one.

11 facts about myself. 

1. I have read sixty books so far this year. 

2. I love walking in the rain. 

3. I am way behind on a lot of projects right now. 

4. Most of today is dedicated to catching up on those projects. 

5. One of those projects is a surprise for this blog. 

6. I own more wall art then could ever fit on my walls. 

7. I'm about to start on my very first big building project next month. 

8. I'll tell you more about that when I start in on it. 

9. I'm finishing writing two trilogies and a five book series this year. 

10. I realize that I am very bad at writing these facts, but I find it hard to do. 

11. I am extremely happy to have that part of the tag over with!

Emily's Questions:

1. What is your favorite name that starts with K?

Karen. The fourth book I ever wrote I named my main character Karen and I've loved it ever since. 

2. What are your birthday traditions?

Every year I get to go out with my mom on a date and we go to lunch wherever I want, and we go shopping and its awesome. =)

3. Do you prefer to write by hand, or type things up?

Type. While I enjoy writing some things by hand I find typing SO much easier and much quicker.

4. Do you collect anything?

Yes, I do. Actually I collect quite a lot but I've tried to narrow it down only to the things I really love. I collect quarters, glass gars with quirk lids, things that say dream, and hand held fans. I'm actually not sure how that last one got started, but I have always loved hand held fans, so I have about five of them. =)

5. What is your least favorite chore?

Cleaning out the refrigerator. 

6. How long have you had your blog, and what is one tip you would share?

I have had my blog for almost three years now! One tip I would share for bloggers is just keep blogging. Don't worry about if your getting comments, or tons of followers, just keep blogging about what you love and who you are and the right people will follow you. 

7. Do you prefer to read short blog posts, or long ones, and why?

Long. I tend to get a lot more out of a long post then a short one. 

8. What is your favorite month of the year?

May. It's when spring is just turning into summer, the weather is amazing, that's usually when my family takes vacation, and also my moms birthday is in May, so that's awesome. 

9. If you were given $100, what would you do with it?

I would buy books and print off photos. 

10. If you could visit one fictional world, which would it be?

I don't really know. =P

11. Do you write your blog posts way ahead of time, or do you tend to write them on the spur of the moment?

Haha, funny you should ask this because normally I write all of my posts on Saturday and schedule them out for the week, but I didn't have time this week, so I am actually writing this up minutes before I'm going to post it and it is taking a LOT longer to write then it does to read it. 

I nominate whoever wants to be nominated. I am actually very late for a run with my sister, and helping my mom with chores, so I don't have a lot of time for more. Sorry! =P

Food For Thought #66

In January I did a post about the fact that love never fails and I posted a one sentence dialog. If you didn't catch that post, you can go and read it here. This post will make a lot more since if you read that one first. 

Now I'm here with a sort of sequel. The characters are the same as before. I hope you enjoy it!

Where to next?

The post office.

Are you sure?

Why wouldn’t I be?

Because you always leave there depressed.

That is my own problem.

Have you had another lack of letters?

No, I have had quite a few.

Then what makes you so sad?

The letters themselves.

Is your girl mad at you?

In a way.

In what way?

She says I wasn’t there for her.

She was the one who stopped writing you for ten years.

I know.

So you’re just going to let her walk all over you?

No.

What are you going to do?

Be there for her now.

Will she let you?

I don’t know.

Do you still think this is worth it?

Yes.

Why?

Because she needs me.

How do you know that?

Call it a hunch.

Why do you stay when it hurts you?

Because I was called to.

By whom?

My Lord Jesus Christ.

He asks much of you.

It seemed logical at the time

Writing Wednesday #29

Now that camp is over, I've started editing my project. There's nothing quite like editing to make me acutely aware of all the little mistakes I make while writing everyday. Not to mention it gives me an added appreciation for the whole writing process because it is so much easier than editing. 

This book in particular I realized how much of my plotting is done on the spot. I just dived into the plot with a few vague ideas such as 'Mandy needs to go and see her family' and such with no real plot planned out. On the whole, I'm realizing the book turned out pretty good, but I'm still coming across passages that I read and then go "Why did I ever write that?" and my brain responds with a shrug and "Well, it seemed logical at the time." 

This is a small clip from my book, Just Your Ordinary Messenger, which I had actually forgotten about, but while writing this blog post I found it and just had to include it. 

“Mandy, you cleaned the apartment?” She asked with an upraised eyebrow.

I nodded.

“You’ve been captured by enemy agents and held for four days and the first thing you did when you got back was to clean up?” 

“It seemed logical at the time.”

Have you done anything recently that seemed logical at the time, but doesn't now?

My Life (In as many posts as it takes) #95

New phone.... again.

Hello! I don't know about you, but I loved texting. I believe it was in 2014 that I got my first cell phone (pictured below as the one on the far left) and I kept that one quite happily until the first of this year. Then it started malfunctioning so I got my second phone. (Pictured in the middle) I managed to drop it on my third day of having it, and it was trashed so I went out and got another. Then last month our server changed their plan so that it was a horrible deal and since my phone is locked, (Meaning it can't change servers) I had to change phones AGAIN. Bringing us at last to the phone I have now. (Pictured on the far right). And that, my dear readers, is how I came to have four phones in two years.

I myself am very happy to be settled on one phone for hopefully a very very long time. 

Strawberry leaves with dew on them. =)

Apparently, kitten rules the stairway. ;)
