Goodnight to the Moon || Knock Me Down

Hey, I've got two poems today that I wanted to share. Neither is very profound, or deep, but I love them.

I wave goodnight to the moon
I say goodnight to God
I lay my head down
Then jerk up again
I twist to see my prayer card
Sitting in the window sill
A moonbeam lying
Right on the answered plea
As if God’s smiling at me

|||||

Knock me down
I dare you
Do your best
Try and kill me
You’ll only make me stronger
You only make me turn
To my Lord
You’ll only make me
Grow closer to Him
So knock me down
Make my day
I dare you

Andora's Folly

34496347

Hello everyone! I have the pleasure of sharing a book by Abigayle Claire with you today!

Synopsis:

A Pandora's Box retelling

Andora is a beautiful young woman with insatiable curiosity. Raised in splendor, she is spoiled by her privileged life. When a love letter is slid under her door, her life takes a drastically unromantic turn. Nothing makes sense—her arranged marriage, the gifts her parents bestow on her wedding day, or her new husband’s temperament.

As Andora begins to unravel the mysteries around her, she ignites a chain of events that have the power to sabotage her entire village forever. Only her new-found wisdom as a desperate peasant's wife can save her from her folly.

Review:

I went into Andora's Folly very intrigued. I'm really not into fairy tale re-tellings, so the fact that someone had retold a Greek myth sounded great.
When I hit about the 30-40% mark, I thought I wasn't going to like this book. I mean, there was a couple cliches; a selfish princess forced to do something against her will, thrown into a world shes not used to. Having to work instead of have people working for her.
But let me tell you, this author broke the cliches. Everything I thought would happen did not, and so much happened I did not expect. Everything had a purpose behind it, showing how well thought out this book was.
I ended up loving Andora, which I didn't really expect to do.
I read this book all in one sitting because it was so intriguing! The ending was perfect. I love novellas, and this one felt just about the perfect length.
I don't love Greek mythology, so I was very pleasantly surprised with how much I loved this. Also the message was beautiful.
There was honestly nothing I disliked about the book.
If you are looking for a sweet, fairly quick read with a great message of consequences and love at its best, this book is for you!

*I received this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

authorheadshot.jpg
Abigayle has been a writer ever since her mother taught her how to hold a pencil. However, she devoted more time to reading words with her green eyes than writing them with her left hand. Inspired by a crazy dream at the age of seventeen, she set off on a journey to self-publish her first novel, Martin Hospitality. Since then, Abigayle has devoted herself to sharing what she has learned through the mediums of freelance editing, and her blog theleft-handedytpist.blogspot.com ... when period drama films are not calling more loudly. None of her successes would be possible without the support of her Savior, large family, and online community.

To sum it up, it was awesome, I hope y'all check it out!!

Video with Mikayla L.

Hello everyone! Happy last day of July. If anyone has an idea where the month went, please comment and tell me. ;) Well, I did a ton this month, which I will tell ya'll all about next Monday in my highlights. But back in May I had the pleasure of meeting with my friend Mikayla L. and we made a video to introduce you to her, and to tell y'all how we met! I wanted to share that with y'all, so the link in below!

All the pictures with water in them are from a friends house on the Texas bay that we had the pleasure of staying in overnight in. That sunset was so gorgeous, I had to take pictures, even though I cringed pointing my camera at the sun.

How has your week been?

A Perfect Ballance

Ether they say
Their life’s are perfect
Or they say
Their life is a wreck
My heart envy’s one
And breaks for another
I have an amazing life
But I know I am one
Broken before my God
Do I make people jealous
Of things I don’t even have?
Do I tell them my life is perfect?
Do I make them feel bad
That their lives are so good?
I sit here
Unable to find a balance
And I have to wonder
What if we were honest?
Doesn’t God want us
To share both good and bad?
Shouldn’t we tell people
Both our success and failures?
What has happened to us
That we think we have to lie?
Why do we believe
That we have to make our lives
Into an extreme?
And I sit here
Unable to find a balance
And I wonder
What if we were honest?
Would we change the world?

Just something I was thinking about today.

Q and A || Finally Got My Permit

Well, I've got exciting news on several things. First off, I got my drivers permit today! Last week I said I working on it, and today my mom took me in and we actually got it! I have a printed one right now, but my card will be here soon! My picture actually came out well, which I was happy about.

And second (And my favorite) is that I am going to be doing a question and answer video with my dear friend Micaiah from Adventures Beyond the Horizon! We are going to be meeting up next month, and we thought it would be awesome to do a video together.
So have you ever wanted to know how we became friends? What about our favorite movie to watch together? What about which friend has more books? What kind of pizza we like? It doesn't matter how silly or serious it is, we'd love some questions! You can comment on this post, or on hers when it goes up and we will answer them all in our video! Or if you don't want to comment, you can always use the contact box in my tab labeled "Let's Talk"

*All questions must be submitted by August 14'th

If you would just take a moment to comment with a question, or two, that would be awesome! I hope y'all have an amazing day!
