Eighteen Years

Me as an eighteen year old. =)

This was going to be the year my life was perfect. I was going to be like all my hero's. This was the year I was going to have everything together. I was going to be an inspiration. I was going to have plans for my future and be working on them. This was going to be the year I was going to be like Nancy Drew. Cause why not? I was turning eighteen after all.

Well, here I am at eighteen, and I'm just going to say that it didn't turn out quiet how I thought. I'm a lot more messed up then I thought I'd be. I'm a not nearly as nice as I want to be. I'm not much like any of my hero's, real or fictional. But you know what. I'm pretty happy to be here. God blessed me with some pretty awesome years. And now I can buy my own gold spray paint.

I was blessed with crazy awesome family and friends that all came together to make this birthday amazing.

You know what, the more I look at this birthday, the more I realize how blessed I am. I have the worlds best family, and an apsalutly awesome group of friends. I have the privilege of blogging here and getting to interact with you all amazing people.

I don't know why God decided to bless me with so many crazy awesome things, but I want to thank you for actually showing up here and reading this. You're awesome.

So is eighteen perfect? No way. Is it awesome? Of coarse.

I am so excited to enter into the next chapter of my story and see what God has in store. Because not everything in my life has been what I wanted it to be, but the awesome thing is I know it was, and is, all working together for my good.

Thank's for being a part of my birthday blessings! Would you comment below and tell me about your favorite birthday you ever had?

  2. I know this is several weeks later, but I read your blog off and on and finally decided to comment.

First off, Happy (very belated) birthday! 18 is an awesome age! =))

I can totally relate to this post, because that's what I thought it'd be like before I turned 19 (which I did two days ago), but as it was for you, it was for me. I didn't have everything figured out, my life wasn't all simple, I wasn't as great as I thought I should be, but I have awesome friends and family who remind me that it's another year of life to serve the Lord. Another year of life to give my all for Him. So, though I was scared to turn 19 and really didn't want to, I can honestly say, I am so excited to see what God has for me this year.

Keep pressing on! Keep your eyes on Jesus! Hebrews 12:1-3
