Don't stress it.

Hey, this is the second time I've written this because I really wanted to share this in a way more then one person could relate.

*Deep breath*

Okay, lately I’ve been struggling with an ever growing pile of thing to do like: blog posts to write, pictures to take, school to keep up with, hobby's to keep up with, books to read, people to keep up with, chores to do, NaNoWriMo to prepare for, a friend to stalk (Just ignore this one kay? ;) and trying to keep my music selection ever fresh to help motivate me to write.
So yeah, that’s kept me busy, I have to admit I haven’t been filling every spare moment with constructive stuff because I’m a very good procrastinator. And all this week I’ve kinda been stressing because I’m behind on Math, my dads computer broke (which I had been using) so NaNo is all going to be done on a computer I can’t hold in my lap =P and I’m not going to finish up Just Your Ordinary Girl at the end of the month like I wanted to.

But you know what? I’m not stressing it anymore.

This morning I suddenly realized that I was being a bit silly. I mean so what if I get two weeks behind in school! What are two weeks in the grand scream of things? If I end up getting sore from sitting strait up all the time to do NaNo so what? I get soar, but I also get to have an novel at the end of only thirty days!

*Gasp* I didn't get half my goals done for this year! So what, I've got a fresh year ahead of me with 365 days with a total of about 8,700 hours and about 5,780 usable hours in that. (Going by an eight hour sleeping period.)

Do you know how much you could do in 5,780 hours?

I know people say you only live once so cram as much as you can into each day but I really don’t think they meant for you to include a lot of stress in there as you struggle to ‘fit everything in’. Certainly you’re going to have you days where you just have to get stuff done, its unavoidable. But just take a deep breath.

This week I needed to remember that the world isn’t going to end if I get behind on school. Life’s not going to halt if I don’t practice my art everyday like everyone’s telling me to. That sometimes stalking a friend is really worth the time (You should try it. ;). That sometimes I’m to focused on getting things done a checking It off the list then I am with really enjoying the stuff I’m doing.

Life’s going to go on, there is always going to be a new task to accomplish and goal to get to.

But don’t stress it ‘kay?

It’s not worth it.

Your wonderful weather you know your algebra or not!

  1. Love it!! So true Mikayla! Just what I needed to hear today.. thanks for sharing with us! And I know what you mean about getting stressed, I think sometimes I strive to get everything done that I want to, I'm bit of a perfectionist you could say, but this reminded me to take a deep breath, and give it to God! Thanks! Keep it up! xx http://walkingonsunshine.co.nr/

  4. Great post, Mikayla! I can relate to getting stressed - ESPECIALLY over Math and school! (But mainly math...) ;) And, I agree, we should be enjoying the things we do, and just relax a little. :)
