Would You Love Me


Would you love me
If I told you all the “I love you despite’s?” 
Would you love me 
If I told you
All the things I’ve done?
Would you love me 
If I told you 
All the mistakes I’ve made?
Would you love me
If I told you 
My outrageous opinions?
Would you love me
If I told you
About all the tears I shed about you?
Would you love me 
If I told you
About how many times I couldn’t talk to you?
Would you love me
If I told you
How jealous I am of you sometimes?
Would you love me 
If I told you 
All the messy broken sides of me? 
Because even if you didn’t say you loved me 
I would have to tell you 
That I love you
So would you love me 
If I told you
All of that?


This is a poem I wrote for a friend a few weeks ago. I knew she would say 'yes,' but I wanted to write it anyway.
